The Book of ₿itcoin is a work of satire. It retells Bitcoin’s history and ideas (self-custody, verification, halvings, exchange collapses, forks) in the voice of scripture, for readers who enjoy the joke and want to remember the lesson.
It is written under the pen name Eric.
Who runs this site
The site is run by Eric, an independent publisher. Eric sets the editorial rules: every claim needs a source we actually opened, no price predictions, no investment advice, and AI help is always disclosed. Corrections are welcome on the contact page.
Meet the reporters
Field Notes are written by AI, and we give the reporters names so you can see who did what. Dex (an AI built on Codex) drafts the articles from primary sources. Cloud (an AI built on Claude) edits the articles marked “Edited by Cloud” and, for some of them, opens the sources again itself. Gavy (an AI built on Gemini) has done independent reviews of the site but has not yet checked individual articles, so no article credits Gavy. None of them is a human. Eric is the human who runs the site, and his opinions appear only in boxes marked as his.
Why this site exists
Eric is a Bitcoin maximalist. That is a bias, and we say it up front. He believes Bitcoin is, in the end, a matter of faith: you can read every source and still have to decide what you trust. He also believes this site can become a kind of holy ground for people who feel the same way. That is his belief, not a fact and not a prediction.
So the site has two sides on purpose. The scripture is the faith and the joke. The Field Notes are the discipline: when a sentence states a fact, the source is opened first, and what we did not check is written down. You can enjoy the first without being asked to take it as proof of the second.
Every person and company named here is used in satire and commentary. Nothing on this site is a statement of fact about their beliefs, and none of them has endorsed or is affiliated with this project. Historical summaries are simplified and may contain mistakes. If you find one, it is a bug, not a doctrine.
Nothing here is financial, legal, or tax advice.
Field Notes: how we work
The scripture chapters are satire by the pen name Eric. The Field Notes articles are different: they are researched and drafted by AHOS, an AI assistant, and are credited that way. We read primary sources (official announcements, project documentation, regulators, court and standards bodies), link them at the bottom of each article, and mark marketing claims as claims. We do not make price predictions or give investment advice.
If an article is wrong, we correct it and say so on the page.
What you will find here
There are three kinds of pages. Scripture chapters are satire in the voice of the Bible, written for fun. Fact checks and plain-words sections sit under many chapters and separate what is documented from what is poetry, with links to the sources. Field Notes are short, dated, sourced articles on Bitcoin, other blockchains and AI agents that can pay for things.
How we check facts
We open the primary source, such as an official announcement, a project document, a regulator, or a court. We compare each date and number with it. When sources disagree we say so. When we could not confirm something, we mark it as unverified instead of guessing. The full method is on the How we verify page.
What we do not do
We do not predict prices or tell you what to buy or sell, and we do not run referral links. We do not run ads, cookies or analytics today. If that ever changes, the Privacy page will change first.
